1. Who we are
AI Agencies Australia ("we", "us", "our") operates the website aiagenciesaustralia.com.au (the "Site"), a directory of AI agencies and AI tools operating in Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
- When you submit the "List Your Agency" form: agency name, ABN, website, location, category, service description, your name, your email, and a client reference.
- When you use the "Contact Us" form: your name, email, the reason for contact, and your message.
Information collected automatically
- We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. This may collect information such as your approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the Site.
- Our hosting provider (Netlify) may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address and browser type as part of delivering the Site.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (such as health, racial or ethnic origin, or religious beliefs) through this Site, and ask that you do not include such information in any form submission.
3. How we use your information
- To assess and process agency listing submissions, including verification checks (ABN confirmation, complaint history, and reference checks).
- To respond to enquiries submitted through the Contact form.
- To understand how the Site is used, so we can improve it.
- To communicate with you about your submission or enquiry.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Disclosure of information
We may disclose your information to the following third parties, solely for the purpose of operating the Site:
- Netlify, Inc. (our hosting provider and form processor) - based in the United States. Form submissions and site traffic pass through Netlify's infrastructure.
- Google LLC (Google Analytics) - based in the United States. Aggregated, anonymised analytics data is processed by Google in accordance with its own privacy policy.
Because these providers are based overseas, your information may be handled outside Australia. Where reasonably practicable, we take steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
If you submit a client reference as part of an agency listing, we will only contact that reference for the purpose of verifying the submitting agency, and will not use their details for any other purpose.
5. Cookies and tracking
This Site uses cookies via Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage data. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect how the Site functions for you. We do not currently use cookies for advertising or retargeting purposes.
6. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data retention
We retain agency submission and contact form data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including ongoing verification and directory maintenance, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
8. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of any inaccurate or outdated information.
- Make a complaint if you believe we have mishandled your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
9. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Contact us
For any privacy-related questions, requests, or complaints, contact us via the Contact page or email [email protected].
